Summary
Project BriefThe Commuter Student Support Group is an ad-hoc committee of Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) leaders at UP. Their goal has been to find ways to better serve the needs and wants of the commuter students on campus. A commuter student is a student who must drive 15-60 minutes to get to class, where they are tired, lonely, and separated from campus life.
Objectives
High-level questions from the Support Group include:
• How are you commuting to school?
• What’s the day in the life of a commuter student? From the moment they arrive on campus to when they leave.
• What kind of programs would our commuter student community be interested in?
